a crow has died by electrocution in the transformer near our house. 40,50 crows cry around it for one hour and gone. Next day three young crows visit and go around and cry for ten minutes. (o.k. what is the english word for young crow. answers.com says chicks is it so?) Next day also the same three crows come and cry. Then for five days no visit. Then they come on tenth day, eleventh day, twelth day and cry. Then a silent of four days. On sixteenth day again all the 40 to 50 crows come and make a hue and cry. As the crow has died on July 1 it is easy for me to calculate the dates (thithi in sanscrit)(thethi in Tamil). Then a spell of silent. What is the wonderful thing here is on 45th day on August 14 again all that 40,50 crows come and make a pandemonium. I am doubting whether they are also having the milk function (2nd day) bone ash function (third day) relatives funeral, santhi (making peace), anantha homam (prayer for bliss) punyaham ( purifing ceremony) aupasanam (daily rituals) sodasam ( 16th day) sabindikaranam (12th day function) thanam (service) sothakumbam ( 27th & 41st days) karumathi (16th day). Today is no moon day (amavasai) and that three young crows alone come and cry. They may be her children. During ancient days when Rishis were doing meditations and other rituals in forest they might be following these type of crows activities. For that reason only they may fixed these dates for rituals and they might be saying that crows are our ancestors. You can also follow these activities and write in this column.

poornashya poorna -mathaya poorna-mevava chisyathe |

om santhi: santhi: santhi:

that is also total. this is also total. from that totality this totality comes.

even after that it is in total. ie:infinity. let the peace be there in the three

world. this world is temporary and everything comes in this world is also

temporary. everything that are temporary are created by that infinity.

thanks to god for giving us this life and comfort. don't desire others

wealth. .....1

thathyang atharvanar is the rishy(hermit) for this. he says these words

to his son who is not interested in worldy pleasures but try to attain

the eternal bliss. even though the world is looking like total it is lesser

totality than the soul itself. in mathematics if anything is taken away

from one it will have reduced volume or size etc.,but in god this theory

is not applicable. everything is coming out from him but he is total

and permanent.

for example if a teacher teaching something he is not loosing anything.

his knowlede is total and the student's knowledge is also total.

let the human being who desires for the worldy life be doing his duties

in the world. ......2.

one who is not giving importance to his soul will suffer in the next world. .......3.

the soul is motionless, total, speeder thantheminditself. .......4

in first mantra higher level gnana (wisdom) is explained. in second duty is

explained. in third the stage of the human being who lost the first two

position is explained. ie...one cannot get the full wisdom without doing

his duties first. it(god) is moving but it is motionless; it is in distance, but it

nearer;it is inside everything, but it is outside all. ...........5

one who is seeing the god in everything that are existing will not hate

anything ......6.

when the existing everything is found as one he will not sleep or confuse.....7

ie:when one is identified himself as god himself he will be in samathi (super bliss) and it is not

necessary for him to sleep separately.

one who is calm in happiness and sorrow and one who is settled within

himself not affected by external forces, one who can identify the ordinary

roadside stone and the costly diamond stone as one, one who considers the

desire and the hate as one, strongly minded, considering the flattery and

the abuse as one, not affected by fame andshame, find friend and enemy as

one, leaving all the actions that are controled by desire, is very nearer to god.

that soul is omni present, omnipotent, bright, having no physical body,

not injured, pure, no curses, knows everything, ruling the mind, comes

himself, gives everything to all for all times. ...............8

one who is doing his duties will be binded by that duties and one who is

not doing anything will also be binded by that actionlessness.

ie:action and actionless are giving the same result

ie:putting him away from the god. ......9.

the action without wisdom about that action and the actionless stage

without knowing the true value of the soul will have the same result.

any efforts that are doing with correct wisdom about that action will

only help you to reach the god.

simply says..... one must have the complete knowledge of what he is doing.

then only he can get the full benefit.

om santhi om santhi om santhi ............

let all my parts, speech, life force, energy, all my senses like eye ear etc

be doing their duties well. all these are only the brahmam (god).

god will not leave me. i cannot leave god. i pray that this relationship

will be permanent. let the duties done by the renowned souls who

are permanently happy will be with me also.

let there be peace in the three world...............

student asks: why the mind is falling upon materialistic pleasures?

why the soul is engaged in desires? which god control senses? .....1.1

teacher: all these things are controlled only by the supreme one.

your eyes, sound, senses and the mind cannot enter into that. .....1.2

we cannot explain that. it is different from the things we known

and it is beyond the things we unknown. .....1.3

brahmam cannot be explained by words. what we are praying as

brahmam is not at all brahmam. .....1.4

for which mind cannot reach and by which the mind is controlled is

brahmam. .....1.5

ie:the eyes are controlled by the life force. the life force can see the eyes

but the eyes cannot see the life force. ..... 1.6

similarly the life force is controlling the mind. it can see the mind but

the mind cannot see the life.(ie:athma) .....1.8

nothing is bigger than the soul it is the infinity.

2nd paragraph:

if you think that you have understood well then that it is not at all brahmam.

similarly if you identify the brahmam with some gods then also it is wrong.

you will have to analyze more ......2.1

student replies: now i can say that i understand brahmam because

i am not thinking that i know brahmam and at the same time i am not

have the feeling that i don't know the brahmam. .........2.2

ie: one who already understand brahmam will not say anything, he will only be in silence

one who says that i don't know the brahmam may know it. the more one is

educated he will be more away from the brahmam. ........2.3

ie:new science is darkness.

one who realises that he does not know the brahmam will only reach brahmam

and he will not die in this eternal world. .........2.4

one who knows this truth will not perish. and others will die

for ordinary causes. .......2.5

in the third and the fourth para how the agni(fire) the vayu(air) and

the inthran(god of the east) cannot find the brahmam is explained.

this is a symbolic story that explains that the more wealthed and the more

knowledged can not also understand brahmam.

like a thunder flash it comes in your mind. it is the first stage.

you will feel that you have reached it but it disappears after some

seconds. it is the second stage. you will feel the zeroness within

you during that time.

one who is doing his penance without any ambitions, one who is silent

at all situations (happy or sorrow), and one who is doing his duties

without any expectations will reach it in due course.

and he will be in the eternal bliss permanently.
